The Butterfly Effect

This was a project done for the D&AD awards, we followed a brief given by the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty to create a symbol of hope.
For our symbol, we eventually settled on the butterfly, thereby coming up with the title The Butterfly Effect.
The Butterfly Effect will ignite hope and unify this generation. Each small change made becomes magnified as the butterfly effect takes over the world. The title suggests that a small change can have far-reaching and impactful consequences. Butterflies are also endangered by climate change, making them a good mascot for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty. Butterflies are widely seen as happy and hopeful.
With this symbol, we want to encourage people to take action rather than focusing on overwhelming climate anxiety. We designed the symbol so that it could be accessible and instantly replicated, empowering those inspired to make a change.
